This is some rare archive footage of Weymouth Harbour Tramway taken in the 1970′s showing locomotives working the track and the cranes that had been a feature of Weymouth Harbour for so many years but sadly dissappeared a few years later.

Up until the 1970′s trains including passenger trains taking holiday makers from London Wayerloo to the Sealink ferries that served the Channel Islands were a regular feature along the harbourside.

The tramlines are still in place but haven’t been used for a few years now.

If you drag the orange man that you’ll see towards the top of the map onto the pointer on the map you’ll see the tramlines as they are these days on Google Street View.
