West Bay lies at the eastern end of the Chesil Beach on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.Formerly known as Bridport Harbour, West Bay is just two miles from the inland town of Bridport.

The attractive walled harbour is surrounded by plenty of places to eat and drink ranging from simple fish and chip stalls to fashionable gastro pubs.

There are lots of fishing trips available in the summer, including deep sea fishing. Boats can also be hired to row up the River Brit towards Bridport.

West Bay was  the location of the BBC series Harbour Lights, which aired in 1999 and 2000 and starred Nick Berry. The beach was also used in the introduction to the  television series The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin.
